Ride To Half Moon Bay

We decided to take the old hwy to Half Moon Bay avoiding Devils Slide. It's a fun ride with no traffic (it's closed to cars), but it is much higher and longer, and it has a lot of loose gravel in patches. Due to the gravel and pot holes in the old road the down hill portion was ruined and the ride took much longer than planned. I would not recomend taking this route with road bikes.

Here is the route~

Great trail, I agree .. but definitely rough on road bikes. Probably pretty tough on hybrids too at times.

I'd recommend the adjacent Montara Mountain trail (just south of your route) too, but that also is no good for road bikes.

Nice use of KML/Google Maps btw!

this reminds me a little of Wyoming -- very pretty and rugged

Did you go to the cave by the beach, north of the bridge? We used to when I was young. Heather & the kids are here in Vermont to visit. She can't believe how beautiful it is. We are going to Woodstock today.
